Warba Wangarunya Rugby League Carnival

Warba Wangarunya Rugby League Carnival (WWRLC) is a culturally inclusive event which brings our communities together from across Central QLD and abroad. Warba Wangarunya has been given the Darumbal Language name of “One Together” which encompasses the main purpose of the event which is social-cohesion.

WWRLC Vision is One Community; One People; One Game. This is achieved by bringing teams, Indigenous and Non-Indigenous from Indigenous communities, rural communities and non-indigenous communities from across the region. It is through the game of rugby league we continue to build on the potential for community collaboration and increased partnerships to improve social outcomes for the Rockhampton Community. Not only is it just a game of football, it also allows Community members, especially young people to give back to the community through volunteering opportunities.

WWRLC is held annually over the Australia Day weekend in January. To re-watch WWRLC 2020 games, head over to Darumbal Community Youth Service page on YouTube Field 1 and Field 2.
